St Ambrose Primary closed for pest treatment, industrial cleaning

St Ambrose Primary School was closed shortly after lunch on Thursday and will remain closed on Friday to allow for pest treatment and industrial cleaning after evidence of mice and roach droppings was discovered on the school compound.

The Ministry of Educational Transformation said the closure is to facilitate recommended treatment of the school plant, followed by intensive industrial cleaning and the removal of unwanted furniture, fittings and equipment to reduce areas where pests may harbour.

The ministry said it remains in communication with the Vector Control Unit and will be guided on when the school can be safely reopened.

Parents and guardians will be notified directly by the school’s administration, and the public is encouraged to monitor official media channels, including the ministry’s digital platforms, for further updates. (PR)
