Small craft warning, high surf advisory remain in effect

A small craft warning and high surf advisory remain in effect as rough seas and swells of 2.5 to 3.5 metres continue along Barbados’ north, east, and south coasts.

The Barbados Meteorological Services (BMS) said dangerous surf and choppy waters are expected throughout the week, with some beaches, especially below cliffs, partially submerged and prone to erosion.

The met officials warn of increased risk of injury or loss of life. Small vessels may struggle in large swells, and beachgoers should swim only at beaches with lifeguards.

Residents and visitors are urged to exercise caution until seas calm.
