Haynes pleads guilty to 2020 murder

A Bush Hall man has admitted to the slaying of a Spooner’s Hill man five years ago.

Javone Rommel Haynes, 26, of Syndicate Road, Bush Hall, appeared before Justice Carlisle Greaves in the No. 3 Supreme Court and pleaded guilty to the murder of Kadeem Brathwaite, 28, formerly of Butler’s Avenue, Spooner’s Hill, who was killed on June 7, 2020.

Acting Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Krystal Delaney accepted the plea on behalf of the State.

Defence counsel Sade Harris requested pre-sentence and time-spent reports for Haynes, who has no previous convictions. The case was adjourned until June 5 for facts, submissions, and sentencing.
