Man back in prison less than two months after theft release

A 32-year-old man of no fixed place of address has been jailed for six months after declaring “I am not wasting time” and pleading guilty to stealing money from a storeroom — less than two months after completing a sentence for a previous theft.

 

Renison Isaiah Prince, 32, pleaded guilty to trespassing on the old Bagshot Hotel and stealing $143.45 belonging to Gregory Auguste on April 11.

 

The No. 1 District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court heard that the complainant was at work and had left several items and money in the storeroom. The accused entered the room, and when the complainant checked, he saw the accused wearing a shirt and bending over a box. He locked him inside and contacted the police.

 

Saying he had been bare-backed when he entered the storeroom, Prince admitted: “I take up his money and a shirt. I wanted to get in a van to get to town and I needed a shirt. This man
