Searles man acquitted of 2019 robbery of fast-food employee

A Christ Church man has been acquitted of a robbery charge after a jury found him not guilty of robbing a KFC employee back in 2019.

Alvin George Chung, of Searles Plantation, Christ Church, had denied robbing Llewelun Walthurst of $69 881 and US$1 259 belonging to KFC on December 31, 2019.

Following a three-month trial, the nine-member jury acquitted Chung, who was represented by attorney Kaviar Callender.

Senior State Counsel Kevin Forde prosecuted the case.

Justice Pamela Beckles informed Chung he was free to go.
