Man injured in Brittons Hill shooting

A man is receiving medical treatment after being shot during an incident at Brittons New Road, Brittons Hill, St Michael, on Friday night.

Police said the shooting occurred around 9:10 p.m. after the man was confronted by a group of people in the vicinity of a business establishment.

The Barbados Police Service said the man fled but was pursued by assailants who discharged a number of gunshots, injuring him. The victim was transported by private vehicle to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where he remains under medical care.

Officers attached to the Hastings/Worthing Police Station are continuing investigations into the incident.
