Murder trial adjourned after accused falls ill

The murder trial of a St Thomas man has been adjourned until next week after the accused submitted a medical certificate indicating he was unwell.

Roger Delisle Sealy, of Airy Cot, St Thomas, has pleaded not guilty to murdering Samara Bristol between November 16 and 21, 2021.

When the case was called, his attorney Sian Lange told Justice Laurie-Anne Smith-Bovell that her client was ill and a medical certificate was presented to the court.

Acting Director of Public Prosecutions Senior Counsel Alliston Seale and State Counsel Paul Prescod are prosecuting the case, while a 12-member jury and three alternates hear the evidence.

The trial is expected to resume on May 19.
