Truck driver granted bail on wounding charge

A 25-year-old truck driver accused of wounding has been granted bail and will return to court in three months as the matter proceeds.

Dishon Deon Maughn of Bibby’s Lane, St Michael, was not required to enter a plea to the indictable charge that, with intent to maim, disfigure or disable Darian Williams or to do him some other serious bodily harm, he wounded Williams on May 15.

Acting Chief Magistrate Douglas Frederick released him on $3 000 bail and warned him to stay away from the complainant and the complainant’s sister.

The case will continue on August 24 in District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court No. 1.
