West Terrace, St Cyprians secure commanding wins in football competition

After being held to a draw in their last game, defending champions West Terrace blanked Good Shepherd Primary 5-0, when the BICO/National Sports Council Football Competition continued at Orange Hill, St James.

In the other matches from the Dane Alleyne Zone, Welches were beaten 2-1 by St Stephen’s, while Good Shepherd eased past St Matthew’s 4-1.

The Reginald Haynes/Victor Gas Clarke zone at Blenheim was the venue for the most comprehensive victory of the season so far, as St Cyprians hammered St Patrick’s Roman Catholic School 14-0.

St Paul’s Primary defeated Luther Thorne Memorial 2-0 while St Giles edged Charles F Broome 3-2. Wilkie Cumberbatch was handed a 2-1 defeat by St Ambrose, while Belmont Primary had a 2-0 win over George Lamming.

There was also lots of action in the Keith Grell Griffith Zone, where Eden Lodge lost to Grazettes Primary by a one goal margin, Deacons edged 

Al Falah 3-2 and Trinity Academy suffered a 1-0 defeat by St Mary’s.

Eagle Hall Primary defeated Lawrence T Gay Memorial 2-1, while 

Westbury got past Wesley Hall 2-0.

High scoring encounters have become commonplace in the Adrian Donovan/Michael Foster Zone at King George V Park and Monday was no exception.

Blackman & Gollop Primary blanked St Martins Mangrove 5-0 and 

Reynold Weekes was on the receiving side of a 3-0 defeat by 

Hilda Skeene. In the remaining games, St Philip Primary and 

St Catherine’s played out a 1-1 draw, as did St Mark’s Primary and 

Gordon Walters.
