Teen remanded on charges over Savvy on the Bay assault, robbery

An 18-year-old has been remanded after being charged with serious assault and robbery in connection with an attack on American visitors at Savvy on the Bay last month.

Rashad Alexander Williams, of Buckingham Road, Bank Hall, appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Douglas Frederick charged that on May 17, he with intent to maim, disfigure or disable Darin Sisco or to do serious bodily harm to him, unlawfully did serious bodily harm to Sisco; robbed Sisco of two chains valued at US$1 000 ($2 028.27) and a US$800 ($1 622.56) cell phone; robbed Larraine Sisco of a US$800 cell phone ($1 622.56) and that, when present together with other persons, he used unlawful violence and their conduct, taken together, would cause a person of reasonable firmness present at the scene to fear for their personal safety.

He is also facing a separate charge of assaulting Cairo Yearwood on June 22.

No pleas were taken.

Eleven other people have been accused in relation to the May 17 incident, including Joshua Greg Belgrave, 21, of St Hill Road, Carrington Village; Addagio Marlon Bostic, 18, of Laynes Gap, Martindales Road; Leonardo Ricardo Allsopp, 26, of Grassfield Gap, Stevenson Road, Delamare Land; Chad Seon Codrington, 18, of Licorish Village, My Lords Hill; Donte Richardo Sealy, 18, of Murrell Road, Carrington Village; Seth Ethan Griffith, 23, of Blackmans Road, Carrington Village; Kenavar Antwan Charles, 18, of Nurse Land, Tweedside Road; and Xavier Xalico Joseph, 19, of Cave Hill, all of St Michael, and three juveniles.

They will all return to court on July 21.
