Teenager remanded over armed robbery charge

A 16-year-old boy has been remanded to custody after being charged in connection with an armed robbery at a Black Rock establishment last week.

The juvenile was not required to plead in the No. 1 District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court to trespassing at Ruffers Bar on June 22 and stealing two chains valued at $1 600 from Tajh Farley, while armed with a firearm.

Acting Chief Magistrate Douglas Frederick remanded the teen to Dodds Prison and ordered that he return to court on July 27. The accused was unrepresented.
