Three remanded in $1.76M cannabis case

Three people charged in connection with the seizure of 110.2 kilogrammes of suspected cannabis, valued at an estimated $1 763 200 have been remanded to the Barbados Prison Service (Dodds).

Arshad Patel, 33, of Welches Main Road, St Michael; Mariah Chante Shernell Parris, 28, of Harlington, St Philip; and Julian Omar Jemmott, 43, of Edgecliff Gardens, St John, appeared before Magistrate Manila Renee in District ‘A’ Criminal Court #2 on Saturday.

The trio were not permitted to plead to the indictable offences of trafficking and importing cannabis, both allegedly committed on June 25.

The matter was transferred to District ‘A’ Criminal Court #1 for July 6, 2026. (PR)
