Teen well digger on bail after denying robbery charge

A 19-year-old well-digger has been released on $3 000 bail after denying a charge that he robbed another young man of a mobile phone, cash and personal items in Bridgetown.

Jachai Ajani Hunte, of Wotton Terrace, Christ Church, appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Douglas Frederick in the No. 1 District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court, and pleaded not guilty to robbing Conner Rasheed of a cell phone valued at $2 200, a phone case valued at $100, a bag valued at $400, a $20 wallet, $400 cash, an $80 identification card, a $50 drivers license and a $50 debit card.

After there was no objection to his release, Hunte, represented by attorney Kevin Miller, was granted bail and ordered to return to court on October 8.
