Chef gets bail on $108 800 cannabis charges

While there were no objections to his release on bail, a 27-year-old chef has been ordered to report weekly to a police station after being accused of trafficking and importing more than $100 000 worth of cannabis.

Jakobi Rolando Corbin, of Arawak Road, Chancery Lane, Christ Church, appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Douglas Frederick and denied trafficking and importing cannabis on August 19.

The alleged drugs weigh 13.6 kilograms and have an estimated street value of $108 800.

Bail was granted in the sum of $40 000 with two sureties, and Corbin, who is represented by attorney Harry Husbands, was ordered to report to the Oistins Police Station every Wednesday.

The case will continue on November 10 in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court No. 1.
