Labourer granted bail on assault charge

A 29-year-old labourer has been granted bail on an assault charge.

Tafari Imojah Bucknor, a Jamaican national residing at Skeetes Road, Bank Hall, St Michael, appeared in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court No. 1 and pleaded not guilty to unlawfully assaulting Natasha Fraser.

The offence allegedly occurred on August 15.

Prosecutor Sergeant Victoria Leacock made no objection to bail, saying that the time granted to the accused by immigration officials had not yet expired.

Bucknor was released on $3 000 bail with a surety and ordered to return to court on September 17.
