Spooner’s Hill man admits burglary offences

A Spooner’s Hill man, who had spent several months on remand, pleaded guilty to burglary, theft and criminal damage offences when he reappeared before the No. 2 District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court.

Fidel Martino Germaine Parris, of Butler’s Avenue, pleaded guilty to stealing two cases of lamb valued at $700 belonging to Kim Hamblin between October 18 and October 19, 2025, and damaging two doors belonging to Keisha Hamblin between October 31 and November 1, 2025.

He also admitted to having apparatus fit for the misuse of cocaine on November 1, 2025, and that, between October 30 and 31 that same year, he entered a building known as Black Rock Auto as a trespasser and stole four batteries valued at $2 000 and a trolley valued at $1 300 belonging to Kurt Hamblin.

Magistrate Manila Renee pointed out that the offences occurred shortly after Parris served a three-month sentence.

“You had just come out of prison. Why were you out stealing?” she asked.

He replied: “That was the drugs, Ma’am. That’s why I end up doing these things.”

Renee adjourned the case until September 29, when the facts will be read into the record.

Parris remains in custody at Dodds Prison.
