Ivy man identified as victim of Fairchild Street stabbing

Forty-two-year-old Andre Jamal Harry of 1st Avenue, Ivy, St Michael, has been identified as the man who died following a stabbing near the Vendors Market on Fairchild Street on Wednesday.The Barbados Police Service said preliminary investigations indicate that several men were involved in an altercation around 9 a.m., during which Harry received stab wounds.He was transported in a public service vehicle to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.Police said a person of interest is assisting with the investigation.Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information that could assist police is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477, Police Emergency at 211, or the Criminal Investigations Department Central at 430-7189 or 430-7190.Police said all information received will be kept strictly confidential.
