Harris apologises to Health Minister after court appearance

Michael Harris has publicly apologised to Minister of Health Senator Lisa Cummins after appearing in court on charges of assaulting her and using threatening words.
Harris appeared before Magistrate Jared Richards in the Traffic Court on Tuesday and was placed on a bond to keep the peace for three months, with no conviction recorded.
If he breaches the bond, he must pay $2 000 forthwith or spend one month in prison in relation to the assault charge, and $1 500 forthwith or one month in prison in relation to the threatening words charge.
Speaking after his release, Harris apologised for his actions, which he said stemmed from frustration.
He also described his night in custody as an experience he would not want to repeat.
