Milling and paving work resumes on Highway 2A

The Ministry of Transport and Works (MTW), in partnership with its contractor B & R Infrastructure Limited, advises the public that they will recommence paving a section of Highway 2A – Ronald Mapp, from the St Thomas Roundabout to the junction at Bucks Road, St. Thomas.

Work will commence on Tuesday, September 22, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. and is expected to take approximately three weeks to complete, weather permitting.

As a result, the road will be reduced to one lane. During the work periods, the southbound lane will be closed and southbound traffic will be diverted at the St Thomas Roundabout. The northbound lane will remain open during the paving process.

All emergency vehicles, public service vehicles and residents will have free access during paving.

Motorists are encouraged to reduce their speed when approaching the worksite and to use alternate routes, where possible. Motorists are also encouraged to be cautious while travelling through the construction zone and to obey the directions of the flag persons and the signs posted.

MTW and B & R Infrastructure Limited apologise for the inconvenience and thank businesses, residents, and motorists for their understanding and cooperation, as they continue to improve our island’s road network.
