Robbery accused duo to face trial in 2027

Two men accused of robbery are scheduled to go on trial in the new year in the No. 4 Supreme Court.

Amir Oladele Blackman, 24, of River Land, St Phillip, and Keenan Zavier Browne, 22, of Four Hill, St Peter, are charged with the robbery of Jevon Herbert of a $28 500 motor car belonging to Janice Herbert on May 3, 2023.

They are also accused of robbing Herbert of a $1 500 cell phone, a $150 wallet, $80 cash, a $60 computer bag, a Barbados drivers’ licence valued at $100, two debit cards worth $100, his $25 Barbados identification card, and a $3 500 laptop that was government property.

When the case was called for mention, Justice Laurie-Ann Smith-Bovell set February 7, 2027, as the warn date and March 22 as the fixed trial date.

“Gentlemen, ensure that whatever counsel you get are ready to proceed on those dates,” the judge told the accused.
