Storm Watch – AOPT on public transport

All public transport will be off the road today by noon in preparation for the approach of Tropical Storm Dorian which is expected to impact Barbados late this evening, the Alliance Owners of Public Transport (AOPT) has advised.

This decision was taken in light of the Government’s decision to revise the national shutdown from midday to 10 a.m., AOPT’s Communications and Marketing Officer Mark Haynes stated.

“It must also be noted that some services may terminate earlier,” Haynes added as he urged commuters to conduct their business accordingly.

“The Alliance Owners of Public Transport as well as the joint select committee of the PSV Association would like to publicly apologise to all commuters for any inconvenience that this may cause. This includes hired cars, taxis or maxi taxis. Everyone is advised and reminded to be safe and obey all instructions given by the authorities,” Haynes added.
