They have been remanded until April 17 to make their second appearance in the No. 2 District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court.

Kyle Archer and Leeann King are also jointly charged that on February 9, they robbed Stephen Holder of an $80 haversack; a $50 wallet; $194 cash; an $80 baton; an $800 cellular phone ; a $50 shirt and $50 pants while allegedly armed with a firearm.

They are further jointly accused that on January 20, robbed David Herbert of a $33, 000 motor van; a $600 angle grinder; two impact driver and drill sets worth $1,050; a drilling machine worth $750; three multi-metres worth $400 and a screwdriver kit worth $150; two cellular phones worth $360 and $80 cash.

Archer is separately accused of having possession of two grammes of cannabis worth $10 on March 11. He pleaded guilty to the charge.

“I bought it for $5,” Archer told Magistrate Bannister. But the judicial officer informed him that he had been given a chance for a similar offence on the last occasion.

“I asked you before if you had a drug problem and you said ‘no’. You have gone from bad to worse. You have been given chances but you are not paying attention,” the Magistrate said. Archer was given three months in prison.

He also pleaded guilty to the charge that he entered as a trespasser, the house of Carl Greenidge on December 1, 2019 with intent to commit the arrestable offence of theft.

According to prosecutor Sergeant Edwin Pinder, the homeowner is a 75-year-old man who had left home for a walk.

On his return he found a concrete block missing from his bathroom.

Archer was given three years in prison for that breaking and entering.

“Old people can’t leave home and come back and find their house ransacked and then can’t sleep when the night come,” Magistrate Bannister said as he imposed the sentence. (AH)
