Early NIS cheque cashing for pensioners

The National Insurance Office has advised that NIS pension cheques, which have cashing dates of April 9 and 27, may be cashed at Post Offices on Wednesday, April 8, and Thursday, April 9, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. 

Those NIS pensioners with surnames beginning with the letters A to H may cash their cheques on Wednesday, April 8, while those with surnames beginning with the letters I to Z may cash theirs on Thursday, April 9. 

Post Offices will be open from 9: a.m. to 1 p.m. on those days. Cheque cashing services will also be available for those who usually cash their cheques at the NIS Office from 9: a.m. to 1 p.m. In keeping with the COVID-19 physical distancing protocols, the National Insurance Office is appealing to persons to queue in an orderly manner both outside and inside the Post Office or NIS Office; to keep the safe distance of six feet behind the person in front of them, and not to block doorways.
