#BTFocus – Gifts from a friend . . . Business shows neighbourly love to Eagle Hall Primary

As online learning continues at the island’s schools, the Eagle Hall Primary School has received more equipment from one of its corporate neighbours and long-time friends.

Today, the Downes and Wilson Funeral Home presented the school with 12 tablet computers, which include keyboards and are already set up with the Google Suite for Education software being used in the Ministry of Education’s online teaching programme.

During the presentation, the school’s Principal Cleopatra Archer said: “This donation of 12 tablets has come at a time when we really need this to help our students, and I am glad you were so thoughtful that we would need them. You have always been there to help us when we needed it; you are a part of our family. We thank you for this donation and you know we will always welcome any assistance you give to our school.”

Managing Director of the Downes and Wilson Funeral Home James Wilson said he saw the donation as an investment in the children’s future. “We are here this morning to make a presentation because we know how important it is these days for children to have computers and tablets. We see the school as our neighbour and we have always been willing to assist them with any items they need.”

The Principal added, “You have always been a strong supporter of this school. We know we can call on you any time and you hardly ever say no. So we thank you, because we still have students that are in need, so this will be very helpful for them.”  (DH)
