Mango thief placed on bond

Frustrated with a man trespassing on her property for five years to pick her mangoes, a woman brought a charge against him.

Today Earl Emmerson Austin admitted to trespassing on Pearl Carrington’s property even though he was forbidden to do so.

Carrington warned Austin about coming on her premises since 2016. The complainant said Austin would go on her mango trees to pick the fruits and sell them.

Austin also pleaded guilty to a possession of apparatus charge. Both charges are dated September 17, 2020

He was placed on a three-month bond to keep the peace. If broken, he faces a $350 fine or a three-month sentence.

Magistrate Allison Burke imposed the sentence in the District “A” Traffic Court. Station Sergeant Edwin Pinder prosecuted.
