Court Ibrahim pleads not guilty Barbados Today18/02/2021135 views The owner/operator of Belleville Auto Spares will go on trial in May on a charge of breaching the island’s COVID-19 laws. Okadia Ibrahim, of George Street, Belleville, St Michael appeared before the Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes today and pleaded not guilty to the charge. It is alleged that he contravened Paragraph (3) subparagraph (1) of the Emergency Management (COVID-19) (Curfew) (No.3) Directive on February 8 when he being the owner/operator of a non-essential service not permitted to open, did so. The COVID-19 Monitoring Unit is expected to begin prosecuting Ibrahim on May 18. Special investigator with the Unit Ronald Cummins is the prosecutor and the accused is being represented by attorney-at-law Talal Noumeh.
