Court PC killer’s sentencing enters new phase Barbados Today28/09/2021141 views The latest phase in the sentencing of the man who killed Police Constable Shayne Welch has been completed with the Crown’s chief prosecutor and the defence lawyer set to make their case next month. Justice Randall Worrell has received psychological, psychiatric and presentencing reports on self-confessed killer Applon Ishmael Ithamar Parris, the No. 2 Supreme Court court heard. Director of Public Prosecutions Donna Babb-Agard QC and defence counsel Safiyah Moore are expected to make submissions on sentencing of Parris, 29, of Taitt’s Road, Britton’s Hill, St Michael on October 4. Parris pleaded guilty to the non-capital murder of PC Welch early on the morning of March 26, 2018. PC Welch, 31, was stabbed 19 times as he met his death in his Kingsland, Christ Church driveway. Justice Worrell is presiding over the case which is being heard in the No. 2 Supreme Court.
