Prison Officer Trevor Browne cleared of charges

President of the Prison Officers’ Association Trevor Browne is a free man.

Moments ago, Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes cleared him of charges related to inciting mutiny and sedition at Her Majesty’s Prison Dodds.

It was alleged that between May 1 and May 9, 2018 he maliciously endeavoured to seduce fellow officers David Davis, Ophneal Austin, Shanell Ellis-Vaughn and Stephenson Trotman from their duties by participating in a sickout.

Browne told Barbados TODAY:  ” I feel relieved,” as he left the court.

He was represented by attorney-at-law Andrew Pilgrim QC.

Inspector Janice Ifill and Sergeant Victoria Taitt were the prosecutors.
