COVID-19 vaccine status report for October 27

On Wednesday, October 27, 2021, 627 patients were recorded in isolation facilities as at 10:00 a.m.

Of these, 439 patients (70 per cent) were unvaccinated, and 135 (22 per cent) were fully vaccinated. Two of the fully vaccinated patients were in primary isolation, two were in secondary and the other 131 were in tertiary isolation.

Fifty-three patients, one in primary, two in secondary and 50 in tertiary isolation, were partially vaccinated for COVID-19.

Primary and secondary isolation for COVID-19 patients in Barbados are units which accommodate those who are very ill and need close monitoring and treatment, with primary isolation housing the most severely ill.

Tertiary isolation houses patients who are only mildly ill or not showing illness. It is important to note that the number of persons in isolation is fluid, and changes throughout the day as persons are admitted and discharged. (MHW/BGIS)
