When he reappeared in the No. 2 Supreme Court today, Morris pleaded guilty to possession of a .45 semi-automatic pistol and 12 rounds of ammunition on September 2, 2017. Crown Counsel Romario Straker accepted the plea on behalf of the Crown. Following the plea, his attorney-at-law Angela Mitchell-Gittens waived the right to a pre-sentencing report. Justice Randall Worrell adjourned the matter until December 6, when the facts, sentencing submissions and character witnesses will be heard. Having heard that Morris, who is currently on bail, had spent little time on remand at HMP Dodds, Justice Worrell hinted that any fine imposed on the now convicted man would be on the higher scale. Mitchell-Gittens told the court she was aware of that fact and “was already in possession of certain things”.
