Court St Michael men facing multiple charges Barbados Today30/03/202201K views Two men have been remanded in connection with several criminal allegations. Zico Akeem Dawit Griffith, of Perfection Road, Bush Hall, St Michael and Jakobi Talik German, of 8th Avenue, New Orleans, St Michael were jointly charged with using a firearm on March 4 without a valid licence; engaging in unlawful and reckless conduct that placed Reniko Grant, Joy-Ann Cox and Kemal Straker in danger of death or serious bodily harm as well as damaging a motorcar belonging to Straker without lawful excuse or was reckless as to whether such property would be damaged. Griffith, 22, is separately accused of doing serious bodily harm to Keshawn Reynolds on January 22 with intent to maim, disfigure or disable him or to do some serious bodily harm to him. He is further alleged to have robbed Reynolds of items worth $23 800 including two chains, two pendants, four rings, and cash in the sums of US$1 000 and BDS$5 270. Meanwhile Germain, 25, is separately charged with driving a motorcycle along Baxter’s Road on March 4 around 5:58 p.m. when the number plate was not fixed to the rear where every letter and figure could be easily read. His other charges included driving the vehicle without it being registered with the licensing authority; driving without a licence to operate a vehicle of that class and description; driving without insurance; driving the motorcycle on a footpath and failing to stop on approach of a police vehicle sounding a siren. The two men who appeared before Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes were remanded to Dodds Prison to reappear before the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on April 25. Germain is being represented by attorney-at-law Angela Mitchell-Gittens and Griffith had Kristin Vanderpool as his legal counsel. Sergeant Shane Chase was the prosecutor.
