EXV Track Club shows they care with Christmas community outreach

Extreme Velocity Track Club 246, sister club of Canadian based Extreme Velocity Track Club had their inaugural Christmas Community Outreach programme recently.

The club donated several hampers to five elderly care homes and to the Marina Brewster Centre (Farr’s Children’s Home).

A visit to the Marina Brewster Centre also took place, but with an unconventional twist. In keeping with the Ministry of Education’s Health and Movement initiative, the club, led by the athletes ranging in age from 13-22 years, organized an evening of games with the residents.

This comprised of an icebreaker, several team building games and an exciting culmination of tug-o’war and a highly competitive relay.

Healthy competition and full participation were the order of the day highlighted with merriment in the air and peals of laughter from all involved.

The Head Coach of the club Glen Williams and Assistant Coach Robert Armstrong were delighted to be at the helm of this Christmas Community Outreach programme and plan to make it a regular occurrence, not only at Christmas.
