Blue Blazers turn the tables on Red Jaguars

After years of being left in the dust, the Blue House Blazers finally turned the tables today when the St Philip Primary held their school sports on the school’s grounds in Church Village, St Philip.

Led by a 39-point performance from Victor Ludorum Demani Knight-Carter, the Blazers – perennial last-place finishers – accumulated 488 points to capture their first title since 2015.

The Red Jaguars’ 457 points were good enough for second, while defending champions, the Yellow Tornadoes finished third with 429 points.

Knight-Carter was the top boy, winning the Under-11 boys’ 100 meters and distance race. He also placed second in the 400 meters, third in the 200 meters and fourth in the cricket ball throw.

The victrix ludorum was the Jaguar’s Chazara Yearwood, who produced a dominant performance to finish on 44 points.

Competing in the Under-11 girls’ division, she won the 100 and 200 meters events along with the distance race, placed second in the 400 meters and third in the cricket ball throw.

The Blazers were also helped to the title by Under-9 girls’ divisional champion Kaisha Forde who amassed 31 points.

The Tornadoes’ Jeffneil Mottley won the boys’ equivalent, totaling 25 points.

Miracle Toppin of Yellow and Marquez Hardaway of Red won the Under-13 girls’ and boys’ titles respectively, with both amassing 36 points. (RB)
