Title belongs to Brewster House at St. Giles

Brewster ‘Yellow’ House of the St Giles Primary School came to defend their title and so they did in emphatic fashion. 

Scoring 475 points, the athletes of Brewster House brought home the bacon while Adams ‘Blue’ House with 367 points finished second. Parris ‘Red’ House was third with 359 points and Cumberbatch ‘Green’ House tallied 336 for fourth position. 

Saluting the show put on by the athletes at the Samuel Jackman Prescod Institute’s playing field was physical education teacher Dwayne St Hill.

He said that the students surpassed his expectations. Regarding the National Athletic Primary School Championships he said that they were simply preparing the athletes to be their best.

“They were eager and performed better than my expectations. I am excited with what I saw, they put in some work for NAPSAC upcoming but in regards to placing we’ll have our children perform at the best of their abilities and let it go from there,” he said. 

Sharing the Victrix Ludorum titles was Omeira Green of Brewster House in the Under-nine Girls Division. She won the 80m, 150m and was second in the 100m and cricket ball throw. Joint winner Saariyah Reid of the Under-13 Division won the cricket ball throw and the 100m and was second in the 200m and 400m for Adams House. 

Meanwhile, Victor Ludorum was Dylan Marius in the Under-11 Division. Marius won the cricket ball throw, 300m and 200m and was second in the 100m- he hailed from Brewster House as well. (MR)
