Gun, ammo, drug charges land accused at Dodds

A 28-year-old man has been remanded to Dodds on gun, ammunition and drug charges.

Wrensford Richard Holder, of Kew Road, Bank Hall, St Michael, is alleged to have had an illegal firearm and 25 rounds of ammunition in his possession on June 23.

The charges are indictable, and as such, he could not plead to the indictable charges in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court when he appeared before Magistrate Alison Burke on Monday.

He also could not plead to the allegations that on the same date, he had in his possession 79 kilogrammes or $316 000 worth of cannabis and he had it with intent to supply and traffic.

Holder is further accused of committing the same three offences on the same date, this time in relation to 0.4 kilogrammes, or $20 000 worth, of cocaine.

Sergeant Verdon Forde did not object to bail on the drug charges. However, the issue of bail
will be addressed further on his next appearance on July 24.

The accused was represented by attorneys-at-law Michael Lashley KC, Simon Clarke and Shadia Simpson.
