Talks underway at the Lester Vaughan School

Several teachers at the Lester Vaughan School are currently engaged in a meeting under the shade of a tree on the Cane Garden, St Thomas compound. It is unclear at this time what prompted the meeting.

However, Barbados TODAY understands that two smoke tests were conducted over the weekend and they revealed that the sewerage system is defective.  The school has been long plagued by environmental problems and was closed last Thursday and Friday.

Well-placed sources indicate that a decision has been made to close the school for the remainder of the week.

For the past several weeks, teachers have been complaining about feeling ill. (SZB)
