Man admits to disposing of Brit’s body

A St Michael man has confessed to unlawfully disposing of the body of British businessman Stephen Weare between August 23 and September 1, 2017.

Shaquille Oneal Orlando Cumberbatch, 28, of 3rd Avenue, Parris Gap, Westbury Road, confessed to the offence when he appeared before Justice Randall Worrell in the No. 2 Supreme Court on Monday.

Principal State Counsel Oliver Thomas, who appeared on behalf of the state, accepted the plea.

Senior Counsel Michael Lashley represents Cumberbatch.

Justice Worrell adjourned the matter until Wednesday when the facts will be read.

Weare, the owner of a car dealership, went missing on August 23, 2017. His body was found eight days later in a remote area in Hillside Garden, The Mount, St George.
