Blackett and others barred from DLP’s annual conference

Embattled general secretary of the Democratic Labour Party Steve Blackett and other supporters including Tyra Trotman, chairman of the Party’s youth arm, the Young Democrats, have been barred from the second day of the DLP’s annual conference being held on the headquarters compound at George Street.

In contrast to Saturday’s proceedings, they were greeted by locked gates guarded by officers from the Barbados Police Service and officers from a private security firm who informed them that their names were not on a list that had been provided of who could enter the compound to take part in the church service currently being held, to be followed by the day’s business.
