(CWI) The funeral service for the late Kenroy DaCosta Williams will be held on Wednesday December 4, from 2:30 p.m. at the St Martins Anglican Church in St Philip. The public will also have the opportunity to view Williams’ body on Tuesday, December 3 at the St Catherine Club in Bayfield St Philip from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Condolence booking signing will also be available on Sunday December 1 (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and Tuesday December 3 (10 a.m. to 7 p.m.) at the St Catherine Club. Williams, who played 29 first class and 19 list ‘A’ matches, was a former Barbados captain and also represented the Jamaica Scorpions in franchise cricket. A formidable batsman and off spin bowler throughout his playing career, Williams was also an outstanding member of the popular St Catherine Sports and Social club in St Philip. He died peacefully in Barbados on November 4 at the age of 40. Barbados Cricket Association President (BCA) Conde Riley reflected on some fond memories of Kenroy Williams and highlighted his huge commitment to the game: “I have always admired Kenroy since his youth days playing for Barbados. I recall when he won the regional youth title as captain in Jamaica. He was a true warrior and a wonderful servant of the game. Kenroy was very committed to Barbados’ cricket and to his St Catherine Club in St Philip.
