South American pleads guilty to drugs, ammunition charges

A South American national has admitted to possessing, trafficking, and importing more than 629 kilograms of cocaine and cannabis, as well as having 132 rounds of ammunition, after appearing before a High Court judge through an interpreter.

 

Jhonny Hernan Garcia Pacheco pleaded guilty before Justice Pamela Beckles on Tuesday in Supreme Court No. 5  to having, trafficking, and importing 54.85 kilogrammes of cannabis on December 23, 2021.

 

He also admitted to possession, trafficking, and importing 574.5 kilogrammes of cocaine and having 132 rounds of ammunition on that same date.

 

A pre-sentence report was ordered to be read into the record on June 30.

 

Pacheco, who is represented by attorney-at-law Sian Lange, returns to court on April 29, when the facts are to be read into evidence.
