Private/Public Sector Initiative patches potholes along South Coast

Drivers on the South Coast are now enjoying a smoother ride. Trident Insurance, working closely with the Ministry of Transport and Works, has patched several potholes along Highway 7 as part of its Road Safety programme.

The initiative began earlier this month with a crosswalk repainting project. On Sunday, the second phase started as maintenance crews cleaned and patched potholes from St Lawrence Gap to Bay Street.

The goal of the project is to make roads safer for everyone in Barbados, including drivers and pedestrians.

Tawania Hinds-Elcock, Marketing and External Affairs Manager for ANSA McAl, said the project will continue on Sunday, August 30, focusing on the remaining parts of the area. Drivers using Highway 7 that day should be careful and follow all temporary road signs.

Hinds-Elcock explained that this hands-on project shows Trident Insurance’s core values. As a part of the ANSA McAL Group of Companies, the company is, in her words, “deeply committed to inspiring better choices for a better world through practical, community-focused action”.
