Mental evaluation ordered

Ricardo Orlando Streeks, of no fixed place of abode, will be evaluated by doctors at the Psychiatric Hospital over the next three weeks.

The 42-year-old was remanded to the facility when he appeared before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant today and pleaded guilty to having cocaine paraphernalia in his possession on March 17, 2019.

This latest offence put him in breach of a six-month bond which was imposed by the same District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court last October and carries a six-month alternative sentence.

However, his slurred speech and his repetition of the word “inclining” raised a red flag for the magistrate who sent him to the Black Rock, St Michael facility until April 8, 2019.
