Four new cases of COVID-19 Friday, five recoveries

Barbados recorded four more COVID-19 cases from the 89 tests conducted on Friday by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

They are three female visitors aged 24, 44, and 68, and a 58-year-old male visitor. Three of them, who arrived on island between December 15 and 20, on West Jet and British Airways, tested positive on their second test.  The 44-year-old came into contact with a known case.  They are all asymptomatic.

Confirmed cases are now 356 – 190 females and 166 males.  Five persons left the isolation facility today, so recoveries have moved to 301, and those in isolation to 48.

To date, the laboratory has conducted a total of 66,066 tests.  (BGIS)
