According to the festival’s Public Relations Officer Jamar Brown the decision comes on the heels of the recent spike in COVID-19 cases and Government’s new curfew measures. “As it stands today we cannot guarantee the one thing that our exhibitors and sponsors trust us above all else to deliver – namely a large-scale, high-quality-hosted buyer attendance,” he said in a statement. Meanwhile, Chief Executive Officer of the Barbados Agricultural Society James Paul disclosed that Agrofest has been postponed. Speaking on the state-owned CBC he said preparations have been suspended but discussions will continue with stakeholders on a possible new date later in the year. (BT)
