Charley Dume’s killer to be sentenced next month

Convicted killer Ryan Omar Samuel is to be sentenced by Justice Randall Worrell next month.

When the case came up in the No. 2 Supreme Court on Friday morning, Samuel’s time spent on remand was read into the record.

It was revealed that he had so far spent 2 665 days on remand at HMP Dodds.

Justice Worrell then set down September 8 as the date for his sentencing.

Back in November 2019, Samuel was found guilty of manslaughter, in the shooting death of 25-year-old Charley Dume on April 26, 2014.

The matter was prosecuted by Deputy Director of Public Prosecution Alliston Seale while Mohia Ma’at appeared on behalf of Samuels.
