Charge dismissed; accused goes free

The State is no longer pursuing a criminal matter against Chad Ramon Tull before the High Court.

AS a result, the Bayville Avenue, St Michael resident walked out of the No. 3 Supreme Court free of a charge of conduct endangering life.

Tull had been accused of committing the offence on June 6, 2014. However the complainant in the case, Damien Parris, previously appeared before Justice Carlisle Greaves and informed the No. 3 Supreme Court that he was no longer pursuing the matter.

Today, Senior Crown Counsel Neville Watson disclosed that after perusing the file and taking into account the
utterances of the complainant “. . . that witness being the keystone in the arch, it would be an exercise in futility to try to pursue this prosecution. The State is offering no further evidence on this matter.”

The prosecutor then asked for the charge against the accused to be dismissed for want of prosecution.

Justice Greaves made the order and Tull was discharged.

“Mr Tull you have come close to this stuff. I would advise you . . . to walk the path of lawfulness and find not yourself facing this type of predicament again. It makes no sense,” the judge told the former accused who was represented by attorney-at-law Andrew Pilgrim Q.C..
