The medals are flowing for Barbados at the 50th edition of the CARIFTA Games in Nassau, Bahamas. First it was Ashlyn Simmons, now it’s Layla Haynes.

Barbados captured another gold medal moments ago as overseas-based middle distance runner Haynes won the Under-20 girls 1500m.

Haynes, a student of the University of Florida, ran the race of her life to outsprint two Jamaicans on the final stretch and clock 4:52.29 minutes.

Earlier, Simmons won the Under-17 girls 1500m in 4:51.65 seconds. (AG-B)
