Tropical wave to impact Barbados on Wednesday

Barbados is likely to experience excessive rainfall, gusty winds and a deterioration of marine conditions on Wednesday as a result of a tropical wave expected to affect the island.

The Barbados Meteorological Services said in a statement on Monday evening: “This tropical wave has an associated area of low pressure. The feature is currently poorly organised. Over the next few days, environmental conditions are expected to be conducive for some slow development as the wave tracks westwards across the Atlantic and is expected to be a strong tropical wave when it moves into our area,” it said.

The system is separate and distinct from Hurricane Beryl which passed the island on Monday morning. (BT)
