Businessman on $15K bail over alleged $63K theft

A 66-year-old businessman has been granted bail and is to return to court later this year after being accused of stealing more than $60 000.

Michael Anderson Yearwood of Sheraton Heights, Christ Church, was not required to enter a plea to the charge of stealing $63 024 from Denise Taitt-Proute between March 14, 2023, and April 2, 2025.

When he appeared in the District ‘A’ Traffic Court before Magistrate Jared Richards, no objection was made to his release and he was granted bail of $15 000.

Yearwood, who is represented by attorney Ensel Grainger, will return to court on October 30.
