Ronnie Gittens, BNOCL Group Human Resources Manager stated: “In recent years the industry has seen an increased demand for qualified persons in the technical skills area. This MOU paves the way for multi-faceted opportunities to develop competencies in the areas of renewable energy, welding, motor vehicle engineering, electronics or related new and emerging studies.” With these new qualifications in the technical fields, scholarship recipients will have the opportunity to improve not only their lives but the communities around them. The scholarship fund is to the tune of $11,000 and will fund expenses for eleven students over the next academic year. “In addition, two of the recipients with the highest GPA at the end of the period of the scholarship will be awarded an internship with the BNOCL. Principal of the SJPI, Ian Drakes, was deeply appreciative of the initiative and said: “This is truly an exciting time for us. This signing illustrates the deepening of SJPI’s long-standing relationship with the BNOCL and showcases our partnership in a more sustainable way.” (PR) You Might Be Interested In Crystal Beckles-Holder, 2nd runner up in regional competition GUYANA: Body of child found after gold mine collapses Barbadians asked to help with return tickets for Haitians Barbados Today Traffic You may also like No justification for assault, as judge imposes $5 000 fine 23/12/2025 Exclusive: Prison chief pushes back on leniency claims 23/12/2025 Fewer murders, but police chief warns of rising robberies, road deaths 23/12/2025
